Hurrying and delaying are alike ways of trying to resist the present

Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time—past and future—the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is

There is never anything other than the present and if one cannot live there one cannot live anywhere

All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present

Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone

Truth is not something outside to be discovered, it is something inside to be realized

Nothing is more creative than death, since it has the whole secret of life. It means that the past must be abandoned, that the unknown cannot be avoided, that ‘I’ cannot continue, and that nothing can be ultimately fixed. When a man knows this, he lives for the first time in his life. By holding his breath, he loses it. By letting go he finds it

People don’t realize that now is all there ever is; there is no past or future except as memory or anticipation in your mind

The more a thing tends to be permanent, the more it tends to be lifeless

Always say “yes” to the present moment. What could be more futile, more insane, than to create inner resistance to what already is? what could be more insane than to oppose life itself, which is now and always now? Surrender to what is. Say “yes” to life — and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you

Experience life in all possible ways — good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light, summer-winter. Experience all the dualities. Don’t be afraid of experience, because the more experience you have, the more mature you become

Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion.

The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment: You create a good future by creating a good present

The moment you realize you are not present, you are present. Whenever you are able to observe your mind, you are no longer trapped in it. Another factor has come in, something that is not of the mind: the witnessing presence

Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure

A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts. So he loses touch with reality, and lives in a world of illusion.

Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.

Thinking is only a small aspect of consciousness. Thought cannot exist without consciousness, but consciousness does not need thought

My meditation is simple. It does not require any complex practices. It is simple. It is singing. It is dancing. It is sitting silently

The wound is the place where the Light enters you.

When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.

Be the silent watcher of your thoughts and behaviour. You are beneath the thinker. You are the stillness beneath the mental noise. You are the love and joy beneath the pain

Be realistic: Plan for a miracle

The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves

…tomorrow and plans for tomorrow can have no significance at all unless you are in full contact with the reality of the present since it is in the present and only in the present that you live.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life

Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself

The intensity of the suffering depends on the degree of resistance to the present moment. When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself, you lose yourself in the world. Your innermost sense of self, of who you are, is inseparable from stillness
